Exports and imports of goods, Slovenia, September 2010


According to provisional data for the period from January to September 2010 compared to the same period of 2009 Slovenian exports increased by 13.6% while imports increased by 12.9%; the export/import ratio was 94.9%.

Increase in exports and imports compared to September 2009. In September 2010 Slovenia exported goods worth EUR 1,708.4 million and imported goods worth EUR 1,760.0 million, which means that exports represented 97.1% of imports. In September 2010 exports, given in EUR, was 15.9% higher than in September 2009, while imports exceeded the September 2009 value of imports by 15.5%.

Slovenia’s exports to EU Member States in September 2010 worth over EUR 1 billion. The value of trade with EU Member States amounted to EUR 1,239.6 million for dispatches (72.6% of total exports) and EUR 1,386.1 million for arrivals (78.8% of total imports). As regards trade with EU non-member countries, Slovenia exported goods worth EUR 468.8 million and imported goods worth EUR 374.0 million.

According to provisional data for the first nine months of 2010 Slovenia's exports amounted to EUR 13,444.4 million (an increase by 13.6% compared to the same period of 2009), while imports amounted to EUR 14,159.7 million (an increase by 12.9% compared to the same period of 2009). The external trade deficit amounted to EUR 715.3 million and the export/import ratio was 94.9%.
