Calik Holding to invest in Albania

Turkey's Calik Holding, operating in areas of banking and telecommunications in Albania, is carrying out feasibility works to make investments in energy, as ANSAmed reports. During a meeting in Tirana yesterday, Ahmet Calik, chairman of Calik Holding, mentioned they have strategic investments in Albania with a value of approximately $500 million and are seeking opportunities to invest in the energy sector.

Calik Holding introduced an electronic banking system in their bank in Albania, Banka Kombetare Tregtare (BKT). Prime Minister Sali Berisa, who was also one of the attendees at the meeting, referred to Ahmet Calik as ''Albania's friend'' and pointed to BKT's improvement in 10 years.
''I didn't know that a company in Albania could grow 10 times in 10 years' time,'' said Berisa.
