BH, Slovenia planning partnership in Libya

In early December, the First Mixed Committee for Business Collaboration between BH and Slovenia is going to convene in Ljubljana, with two respective PMs as chairs.

Different work groups have already been appointed within the Committee - for agriculture, food and energy, and an initiative was adopted at a roundtable in Ljubljana recently for a construction work group. Based on interest expressed so far, ten construction companies from each country would take part initially in a construction partnership project.

As an economic adviser with the BH Embassy in Ljubljana explained, BH contractors are looking for a way out of crisis, and expanding to new markets, particularly in Arabic countries, is one very important option. There are 17 BH construction companies operating in Libya already, while Slovenian companies have had more difficulty entering this market. At the same time, foreigners make about 43 per cent of construction workforce in Slovenia, and 70 per cent of these are from BH.
