Bulgaria
Two projects aimed at providing financing for SMEs in order to promote job creation and growth, one worth 20 million euros with the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB), the other worth 5 million euros with the Société Générale Expressbank. The first will make long-term resources available for productive investments by private entrepreneurs. The second will also facilitate access to bank credit for SMEs.
Croatia
A project worth 6.48 million euros with the Government to modernise the national penitentiary system. The CEB is to part-finance the renovation of the Zagreb Prison, which contains 20% of the country’s prison population and houses a Department for Psycho-social Diagnostics through which all the country’s prison inmates pass. This project includes the extension of the prison, the recruitment of qualified staff and the purchase of modern equipment in order to improve detention conditions.
Germany
A project worth 50 million euros with Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein to modernise public infrastructure in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, comprising two parts: on the one hand, construction or rehabilitation of the water, gas and electricity supply systems, road network and optical fibre systems, and socio-cultural and sports facilities in order to improve the living conditions of the population; on the other hand, in the environmental protection sector, installations for the treatment of waste and energy efficiency measures.
Hungary
A project worth 125 million euros with the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB), aimed at financing investments in favour of employment. The CEB loan will provide long-term funds for SMEs with a view to creating the appropriate conditions for sustainable economic development. Moreover, part of the project will facilitate investments by local authorities in Hungary for the modernisation of public infrastructure and protection of the environment.
Poland
A project worth 150 million euros with PKO Bank Polski to finance productive investments by SMEs in Poland, thereby improving the competitiveness of such businesses and promoting employment.
Serbia
A project worth 32 million euros with the Government for the construction of social housing, a sector in which demand far exceeds supply. This project will make it possible to better implement the recent legal provisions aimed at facilitating access to credit for the construction of rental housing or of housing intended for purchase by low-income households.
