Slovenia's Petrol sees Jan-Sept group net 34.8 mln - up 82 pct

Slovenia's largest fuel retailer Petrol (PETG.LJ: Quote) said on Thursday it sees January to September group net profit at 34.8 million euros ($48.5 million) versus 19.1 million in the same period of 2009. It said sales of oil products rose by 3 percent to 1.7 million tonnes while sales of other products increased by 10 percent to 313.1 million euros.

Petrol gave no explanation for the profit hike but said profit was 8 percent above plans for the period, while sales of oil products were 6 percent above plans. It said detailed results report for the first nine months will be published at the end of November. Petrol operates 439 filling stations in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro.

Shares of Petrol eased 0.03 percent to 255.93 euros by the end of Thursday trading while the blue-chip SBI index eased 0.05 percent. ($1=.7181 Euro)
