The Slovenian Government prepared an urgent Act on Slovenian Railways which separates company activities to avoid potential EU sanctions. The Government claims that it is important to adopt a new act which would restructure Slovenian Railways because of proceedings launched by the European Commission.
The proceedings were triggered by the fact that the current structure of Slovenian Railways does not ensure independence of infrastructural management from the hauler. The act, which will be discussed by the Government this week and then be sent into Parliamentary procedure, contains only 11 articles and determines the structure of Slovenian Railways as a holding.
