CBBiH: economy will grow by 0.5 per cent

The economy of BH is expected to grow this year at a rate of about 0.5 per cent, the Central Bank has forecast on the basis of indicators from the first half of the year.

They indicate that economic slowdown from 2009 has come to an end, and that there would be no further contraction. The country’s foreign reserves reached BAM 6.37 billion (EUR 3.26 billion) by the end of August, and they increased since late 2009 by BAM 160 million. CBBiH explained this increase was largely due to the economy picking up and the tourist season. By the end of last month, BH’s external debt reached BAM 5.82 billion, growing since 2009 by around BAM 584 million.
